Girls at the Helm

I love digital, and at least they didn't trash the house this time. (I was upstairs nursing a migrane.)

There were about 100 more pictures, but I think you have the idea .

Wordless Wednesday

It just wouldn't be a back to school picture without the squinting.

While I was busy doing this, my "craft room". . .

and this, the storage room . . .
(Look! You can see the floor, you could actually use the sewing machine if you were so inclined, and those 3 big beautiful creative memories boxes in the middle are EMPTY!! Saved for later hoarding)

THEY
were busy doing this.

(HAME the hamster is in the top left corner in his ball. Tthe destruction of the family room was all done for his napping pleasure.)

Swim meets

Well, I had better quickly remove the picture of Katrina (before she kills me) but otherwise this celebration of summer via the Park View Swim meet is ready for public viewing!

Click on the picture and it should link you.

"It doesn't smell like Ass Coffee"

You know,
when you forget that there are kids in the house,
and you make statements like
"WHOA - that's some strong-ass coffee!",
you can almost guarantee that your daughter will be right around the corner, bounding down the stairs telling you,
"it doesn't smell like Ass Coffee to me, Mom".

"I even used Capidles"

These are the little treasures I'm keeping for the girls;

A writing prompt of Caitlin's, where they grade themselves at the end. She must have been impressed with her own work, because she proudly added "I even used Capidles."

I hope I also kept the math test, where she absolutely butchers the challenge story problem at the end, and then answers the question "tell how you got the answer" with - "Lucky Guss".

AND - the big news of the day is I found the CD's I copied for my Mom and Dad!!! Hopefully this gives me a POWER UP in my highly saught after mojo - I've been looking for them for days, burried deep in the OLD to do piles.

Now we are off to swimming, piano, arrand to "Swimming Things" to get the team suit for Caitlin, and the Auto Zone to see if I need a new car battery. And then book club. (A rare treat because I've stopped going during the masters degree era.)

Ya'll can borrow some mojo if you promise to have it back by midnight!

I Wonder where she gets it

I just put the google, or picasa slide show screen saver on my computer, and I've just had a great afternooon rediscovering all the pictures on my computer, and there are ALOT of them. Apparently random - how does it do it?

Anyway, I have 200 pictures just like this of Abi with a variety of little animals, and today I stumbled across this look-a-like of me. (I wanted to be a Vet until I reached high school, then I wanted to... travel. I suppose that is the nice way to put it.)
I'm going to rename it, Pony-Girl Senior.

Time is marching on

This is past due. This Swag was a present from my Mom and Dad, made out of my wedding bouquet. (I "colorized" this picture and it still looks pretty pathetic, so I think I made the right decision.) Now that it's mostly a dusty dried up grayish-brown, I've taken it down and thrown it away. I feel so... organized. Progressive even!

11 and a half years. WOW.

Meet HAME the hamster!

Of all the exciting things going on (well, I'm in the organizing zone baby! So maybe it's just exciting for me, and YOU could do without the description of my new filing system, furniture moving and refrigerator drawer cleaning...) the most exciting thing would be our new Hame (Hammie) the handme-down hamster. aka, "the hamster formerly know as Scamps".

Isn't he cute! He is much the center of attention.

OK - coffee break time. One suduko puzzle, register for fall classes and then it's back to the storage room, which is within spittin distance of being ORGANIZED!

ARE WE THERE YET? Post trip report

OMG - it's nice to be home! Lovely trip, had a great time.

Ah, my own Pillow.

I see in the paper that the U.S. Department of Education laid out $750,000 for a study that shows that going to art museums and looking at art is good for schoolchildren, which I would have been happy to tell them for, say, $500 and a nice lunch. - Garrison Keilor
